Asian Alliance
Up until now, Asian business schools have been cooperating primarily with American or European schools offering MBAs. Now for the first time three top schools from China, Korea and Singapore are starting a joint MBA program.

The graduates will receive MBA degrees from two of the three participating universities. The third school will offer a certificate of attendance. “Participants can get only two degrees because of the short span of the program,” explains Professor Kulwant Singh, Interim Dean at NUS Business School. According to him, in 18 months it is only possible to complete the necessary courses from two of the universities. The first semester takes place in Shanghai, the second in Seoul and the third in Singapore. Tuition fees are $ 33,000.
The new MBA program is the culmination of two years planning. “The increasing MBA demand in Asia calls for an MBA with an Asian focus that can produce graduates with an in-depth understanding of the region,” explains Euh Yoon Dae, former Korea University president and spearheading force behind the project.
Applicants need to have a good bachelor’s degree and at least two years of working experience. The three schools have divided the recruiting of participants amongst themselves. Fudan University will focus on attracting students from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Singapore will concentrate on Southeast Asia and Korea University will focus on attracting students from South Korea and other parts of the world such as Europe. The first class is planned to start with 20 students.
