Wharton and Insead renew alliance
The American school Wharton and the French institution Insead have extended their alliance for a further four years. The cooperation enables the combination of the resources in research and education of both top schools.
The collaboration covers the MBA student exchange, a faculty exchange, joint research and teaching projects through the Alliance Center for Global Education and Research, PhD collaboration, co-branded executive education courses and ongoing joint alumni initiatives.Since the alliance began, more than 800 MBA students have participated in the exchange program. More than 750 executives have attended courses such as “Strategic R&D Management” and “Leading an Effective Sales Force,” delivered at all campuses and taught by faculty members from both schools.
In addition to its main campus in Philadelphia, Wharton has another location in San Francisco. Next to its hometown location in Fontainebleau near Paris, Insead is also represented with a complete campus in Singapore as well as with a research center in Abu Dhabi. Together, both schools have more than 400 full-time professors.
The alliance has also expanded research opportunities for faculty from both schools through the creation of the Insead-Wharton Center for Global Research and Education. In the meantime, more than 60 faculty members have visited or taught at the partner school. There are large-scale global research projects in which ten joint research teams are currently active.
In addition, the alliance also provides the participants with access to the alumni communities of both schools (with 82,000 Wharton alumni in 148 countries and 37,000 Insead alumni in 160 countries). In the future the exchange will apparently be further intensified. Professors will present their published works and research results to both networks and there will be joint alumni events.
