Third campus for Insead
News Bärbel Schwertfeger - 10.16.2009
Insead will open a new campus in January in Abu Dhabi. Up until now the business school is only represented there with a research center. The “Abu Dhabi Global EMBA” is slated to start in the richest Gulf Emirate in 2010.
With the new 6,000 square meter-large campus, Insead is creating a hub for its Executive MBA (EMBA) programs in Fontainebleau and Singapore. The business school has already had its own campus in Singapore for ten years now and participants of the Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) already attend individual modules in Singapore. There they also meet participants of the dual degree program that Insead runs together with the Tsinghua University in Beijing (TIEMBA).
An additional EMBA class which will then be linked to the other two EMBA programs is slated to start in October 2010 in Abu Dhabi. In the future, all three classes are set to spend a few weeks together.
“The Abu Dhabi Global EMBA is a very globally-integrated program, leveraging Insead’s campuses in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East,” said Javier Gimeno, Dean of Insead’s EMBA program. “It will provide an unmatched international experience for executives working in the region.” The Abu Dhabi section will join a network with participants from more than 40 nationalities.
With its three campuses in Europe, Asia and the Middle East and an office in New York, Insead is one of the most global business schools in the world. It also has an alliance with the Wharton School in Philadelphia. 145 professors from 35 countries teach at the school. The MBA, Executive MBA and PhD programs have more than 1,000 participants. In addition, more than 9,500 executives participate in Insead’s executive education programs.
