MBA & Company: Rent a talent

MBA & Company was founded two years ago by a group of MBA graduates who understood that during the economic downturn companies did not have the funds available to use expensive consultancies. It has evolved into a means for companies to gain access to talent in a manner that reflects their needs. Today MBA & Company takes advantage of the surplus of top-tier talent from the world’s leading business schools who haven’t yet found their dream job by using a web site to match up grads with of companies that need consulting but don’t want to pay the premium that McKinsey, BCG and the other the big-name brands demand.

24 months after starting, Daniel Callaghan, founder and Managing Director of MBA & Company has 6,000 experienced candidates in more than 100 countries in his database. His management team has grown to five principals and the client base ranges from global companies such as Amec, Tribal Group, Royal Sun Alliance to government offices such as UK Trade and Investment, Enterprise Ireland, and the UK India Business Council. In addition there are also small start ups like Feet First or promocloud.com.

“We have now done projects in over 15 countries as far away as Brazil, Mexico, USA, Canada, China, Australia and throughout Europe,” says Callaghan, who expects a turnover of around one million pounds this year. He has also closed a first round of funding with the Spanish Angel fund Cabiedes & Partners for several hundred thousands of euros – the exact amount remains confidential. Iese Business School’s own venture capital fund has also invested: Callaghan graduated from there, after all.

The London based MBA & Company has been selected as one of the top 100 new businesses in the UK and was selected as UK Start Up award finalist for the 2nd year running.
