Deloitte & Touche, Ernst & Young, KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers: The big four accounting firms in Germany plan to start a Masters’ program of their own for their employees. A first class is expected for 2012.
Some years ago Germany introduced bachelor degrees and ever since recruiting experts like Marius Moeller, head of personnel at PwC, find that "the qualification of applicants has become much more heterogenic." The planned master program shall remedy this lack of consistence and aims at a more structured education that caters to the specific needs of accounting firms. Throughout the country the ?big four? asked 60 universities to come up with suggestions for a curriculum. From September the number crunchers will cooperate with two universities initially, and at a later stage there will be six different locations for schooling future accountants.(August 4th 2010)
