Accreditations

With the business school of Qatar University in Doha and the Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok AACSB International announced its first accreditation in Qatar and Thailand. Altogether nine schools get accredited for the first time. This brings up the number of accredited business schools to 579 in 35 countries.

Five schools from Canada, China, France, Mexico and Singapore were awarded EQUIS accreditation by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). That takes the number of accreditations to 121 schools from 34 countries.

With the Sogang University, the AACSB has now accredited the seventh business school in South Korea. The New Zealand-based Massey University has also received the quality seal.

The Faculty of Economics, Business Administration and IT of the University of Zurich has been awarded Equis accreditation. Also accredited is the Faculty of Business Administration of Simon Fraser University in Canada. This takes the total number of accredited schools to 117 across 34 countries

The global accrediting body for business schools, AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), has opened its first regional headquarters in Singapore.

The new “MBA Guide 2009” is characterized by false information regarding the school profiles, particularly when it comes to accreditation. A clear division between ads and editorial content is also missing.

Although the Wissenschaftsrat, the advisory body to the German Federal Government and the state governments for higher education institutions and the research sector, has accredited the European School of Management and Technology (ESMT) in Berlin, it makes no secret about the fact that it considers the business school’s ambitious goals unrealistic.

The European School of Management and Technology (ESMT) in Berlin was accredited by Amba in January and is starting its smallest full-time class to date with 26 students.

Five more business schools have earned accreditation from AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. One of the schools is the Shanghai-based China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), which was established with the help of leading European schools.

With a total of 24 accredited programs and 44 programs accepted into the accreditation process, the program accreditation of the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) is attracting great interest.
