Nanyang Business School (NBS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU)

Nanyang Business School (NBS) is one of Asia’s largest business schools. It offers a comprehensive array of undergraduate and graduate programmes in accountancy and business. Drawing on a 50-year heritage of educating the region’s business leaders, NBS provides an outstanding learning environment with state-of-the-art facilities and world-class research centres. The Dean of NBS is Professor Jitendra Vir Singh. Prior to joining NTU in September 2007, he had been at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania since 1987 where he was the Vice Dean of International Academic Affairs, and was most recently the Saul P. Steinberg Professor of Management. NBS is the only Singapore business school and the third in Asia, to have both the European Quality Improvement System and Association of Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditations. It is also one of only five business schools outside of the United States to be accredited with the AACSB in Accounting. These are the most widely recognized European and American quality assurance standards relating to the provision of world class accounting and business education. For four consecutive years from 2004 to 2007, the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) has ranked the Nanyang MBA amongst the world’s top 100 MBA Programmes. In January 2008, the Financial Times (FT) ranked our MBA programme to be first in Singapore and world top 50 – a first for a Singapore University on FT’s global MBA ranking. To leverage the strengths of world-class institutions, NBS has established many strategic partnerships and collaborations with leading business schools such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Carnegie Mellon University, Cornell University, University of California, Berkeley, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Essec Business School, University of St Gallen, Waseda University and the Shanghai Jiaotong University. NBS has created a world-class learning environment, consisting of the best physical infrastructure and top human capital. The NBS faculty boasts internationally recognised scholars who are selected for both their academic excellence and depth of industry experience. The Accounting and Finance faculty have been placed best in ASEAN and amongst top three in the Asia-Pacific region. Many of NBS’ extensive alumni of over 25,000 hold leadership positions in more than 40 countries. Our alumni networks offer a rich resource for curriculum internships and graduate recruitment, as well as social capital for our students.
